This is going to sound like a broken record, as I have a similar story to very many people. I have never been a thin person. I was very active in sports, and then I had a knee injury, which made me inactive for years. I put on weight and did not engage in much activity. I was always the biggest person in my group of friends. I had very poor eating and drinking habits. At the age of 57 I decided to finally do something about my weight, as my numbers were pointing toward pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. I booked my date…which got cancelled and rescheduled several times due to covid. That was very annoying, I was ready to begin. Surgery went well and I lost 60 lbs in a blink of an eye. Then 11 more pounds went away, and that is where I am today, 71 lbs gone. I am very happy and healthy right now. I would like to lose about 40 more pounds, but we all know how much work that is. I eat much better than I have in years. Not perfect, obviously, but good enough to maintain my weight loss for almost 2 years now. Good thing I am a carnivore, I love my meat, which means I eat a lot of protein this way. My airfryer is my best friend for so many foods. My medical numbers are ALL in the normal to good range. I walk, ride a bicycle and do yard work for activities. I have to say that deciding to get sleeve surgery was the best thing I could do for myself and my health. I would not have lost this weight without this surgery. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT OCC!
