I was very frustrated and upset because my insurance would not cover any weight loss procedures. One day I was in a Facebook group and mentioned my problem. Someone said, “Look into Mexico!” At first I thought she was crazy and she said, “Just do your research.” So I did. After obsessive research, I decided on OCC. I messaged a friend who said she “I went to California because it was cheaper,” I knew nothing in California was cheaper so I asked her where she really went after she got to California. She said she had gone to a place in Tijuana called Obesity Control Center. She said it was a wonderful experience and I knew then that I had made the right decision. We both did our research and decided on the same place!
I have been around 300 pounds for the past 30 years. I lost about 70 pounds on Weight Watchers long ago, but Katrina (hurricane) happened and I gained it all back. The stress was just too much. I tried and tried to get back on track, but just couldn’t do it. On May 30, 2014 I had the sleeve at OCC. My life changed. I followed the rules, started working out (I did that about 2 1/2 months pre-op), and it worked! I have lost 176 pounds and have my life back!
