My weight fluctuated between 130lbs and 180lbs all my adult life. Up and down. I would crash diet, then slowly the weight would creep back up. Living the yo-yo life. I did all the diets over the years. My biggest problem was being raised to always finish everything on my plate. And I had a huge appetite. A large pizza for a meal was the norm. Then, at 47 years old, I started menopause. With drastic hot flashes I started estrogen pills. I gained 20lbs in the first 3 weeks taking those pills. I proceeded to gain 3 to 5lbs a month on the pills, even if I dieted. I couldn’t stop them, but I was growing daily. I was tired all the time. My back and knees hurt. I felt too lazy to play with my grand daughter. Getting down to the floor to play and back up was too much work. Everything was hard to complete. Once I decided to have the gastric sleeve, I started the pre-op. I lost 12lbs to be at 200lbs day of surgery. I flew to San Diego on my 49th birthday. In the next 6 months I went down to my OCC goal of 145lbs. At 9 months, I was at 140lbs. 12 months at 135lbs. I have been staying between 130 and 135lbs now for almost 6 months. I love my new life. I am enjoying every day to the fullest. I actually bragged about turning 50 this year. I only feel 20 now and a month before surgery I felt 80. Thank you OCC. The doctors, staff, facility and hotel were all amazing. I was up and walking around an hour after surgery. The next day, I went to the mall. I really enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. I have since referred 3 or 4 people as well.

Taking my life back
A friend told me about OCC. I had been thinking about surgery for years but I was scared by stories I had heard and seen from coworkers having a similar surgery. When I started my research I couldn’t believe all the experience and credentials that OCC had.
