I always blamed my weight on my hereditary genes and struggled with it for over 30 years. I had my daughter in 2010 and realized that I did not want to be that fat mom that could not do things with her due to my size. I was a pretty active person, but knew I was too big to ride things with her, keep up with her, etc.
I always wondered what I would say when she got to the age that she would want me to swing with her or ride on something with her at Disney or the State Fair. What was I going to say? “I am sorry baby, but mommy can’t fit on there.” “We are over the weight max for that!” I would be mortified!
I had my surgery in May of 2014 and have lost 75lbs. I have never been happier! I run at least one 5k per month, have been working with a personal trainer for 1 year and am ready to tackle this world myself. I have the strength, energy and confidence I only dreamt of for so long.
