Procedure Received: Sleeve
3 years ago I made a change in my life. That change started my life flowing in a positive direction. Up until then I always kept myself on the back burner. I was quick to jump in and help anyone who needed it, regardless of the negative effects it could have on me. During that time, I met someone who had gone through the sleeve surgery, though. He raves about Dr. Ortiz and the entire staff. He convinced me that I am allowed to put my needs; my health first. Not only would it boost my confidence, it will bring forth even more opportunities. I’m nearly 40, all my children are in their own homes, and now I can look forward to my life in a brand new light. Prior to going to OCC I tried losing the weight on my own. The heaviest weight I reached was 237. I was able to get some of that weight off. I will admit, I argued with myself and others, saying I didn’t need the surgery, because I could lose it. Losing was not the problem, though. Keeping it off and maintaining a healthy weight and staying on track with a healthy lifestyle is where I struggled. Finally, three months ago, the opportunity presented itself and I could not say no. I was sleeved on 8/22/2022. I currently am down 48lbs from 191lbs. I am forever grateful to Dr. Ortiz, Lucia, everyone at OCC.
